TERROR-X-CREW

Efthimis, DJ Al X, Artemis MC - TXCTerror-X-Crew(TXC) was formed in 1992 by ARTEMIS MC, MC EFTHIMIS and DJ AL-X. Their style is Hard-core. They have a history in Graffiti, dating back to 1990. DJ AL-X studied Sound Editing in the USA. In 1993 they were members of FREESTYLE PRODUCTIONS, an Underground Production Co., but had an arguement with the group ACTIVE MEMBER . TXC and ACTIVE MEMBER have been bitter enemies since then, although ACTIVE MEMBER have tried to make things up. In 1995, TXC release their first EP in the underground label Studio2. It was a success in the Hip-Hop community, selling over 3000 copies without any promotion or music videos. In 1996 they signed with major Greek label FM Records and in April of this year they released their first LP, "Ç Ðüëéò ÅÜëù" (The City Has Fallen). ARTEMIS MC is now in the Army and MC EFTHIMIS is a student in Kozani. They gather every once in a while, performing live in major Greek cities. DISCOGRAPHY:

HIMISKOUBRIA(= The Semi Mackerels....)

Mithridatis, D. Metzelos, DJ Prytanis - HimiskoumbriaThey were formed in 1995 by Dimitris Mentzelos, Mithridatis and DJ Prytanis. Their style is what it could be described as Comic or Funny Rap. D. Mentzelos has a history as a radio producer and knows almost everybody in the Greek Hip-Hop Community. Mithridatis and D. Metzelos participated in REAL (Rap Elevates Above Law), a Freestyle Production , as Junior J and Master J. In a strange way, they are enemies to ACTIVE MEMBER too. The latter (especially BD Foxmoor) say that (untrue) their style is bastardizing Hip-Hop (as if they're the ones to judge... Check Truth ). Anyway, in 1996 they released their first LP through FM Records , "30 ×ñüíéá Åðéôõ÷ßåò" (30 Years of Hits), achieving Gold status. They released their second effort, earlier this year, under the title "Ï Äßóêïò Ðïõ Äéáöçìßæåôå" (The Record You are Advertising) with guest appearances by major Greek artists, such as Phoebos Delivorias, Elpida, C. Papadoploulos, rapper Dr. Dreez and DJ Steel. This album also achieved Gold status (the award show is scheduled for October 13th). They finished the production of Dr. Dreez's debut album (due out early November). DISCOGRAPHY:

ACTIVE MEMBER

As you may have already noticed, Active Member has been removed from Greek Hip-Hop Page and a link was placed in every place of the text where Active Member and related aspects (such as Freestyle Productions) are mentioned. Read the whole Truth , and nothin' but the truth by checkin' out the link.

FF.C

FF.C Now standin' for "Fortified Concept", FF.C formed back in the Old School era, in 1987. Dimitris Petsoukis (High Cool) was the founder. From the first moment, Kostas Kourmendalas ( Fresh Cool G, as some may recall), DJ Everlast and Th. Maggos (Free Jah Present), as an "honorary" member. They used to rap in English with the unique, then in Greece raggamuffin stylee. In 1993 they released their first album through Freestyle Productions called "Óêëçñïß Êáéñïß" (Hard Times),featuring songs with Greek and English lyrics. For a strange reason, the track "ÍáñêùôéêÜ" (Drugs) is the LP's most known song. Theodore Maggos left the group, at least officially (he participated in "Óå ¶ëëç ÄéÜóôáóç" in some tracks, see below). After an absence of four years from the recording scene, they returned with their first major album through Polygram, called "Óå Üëëç äéÜóôáóç" (In another dimension), with guest appearances by Razastarr and female vocalist Unique. The bad news (at least for the wax lovers) was that it was released in CD format only. DISCOGRAPHY:

GOIN' THROUGH

Goin' Through Goin' Through were formed in 1990 by Nikos Vourliotis and Michalis Papathanasiou. They released their frist single in 1994 through FM Records, called "Ç ÁíáæÞôçóç" (The Quest), with lyrics written by BD Foxmoor . This single was only the escort for the same-titled LP in 1995. BD Foxmoor is reponsible for the majority of the lyrics. However, the way things came, they don't even talk to each other anymore. The remake of Peloma Boque's song "Ãáñýöáëå"(Greek name meaning carnation) featuring Vlassis Bonatsos (former singer of Peloma Boque) was an immediate hit. In 1997, "Ìéêñïß Èåïß" (Little Gods), their second LP was released, with guest appearances by female vocalist Unique (former Sistah Mythikah) and the collaboration of Artemis MC(TXC) and D. Metzelos(Himiskoubria) in "Ðôþóç"(The Fall). DJ S also participates with his awesome scratches. DISCOGRAPHY:

ZN(Æùíôáíïß Íåêñïß=Living Dead)

They were formed a year ago, but they've already started to attract lots of fans, with a style that could be described as Horror Core. ZN are consisted by Ôõìâùñý÷ïò (Grave Robber), ÌçäåíéóôÞò(Nihilst),Õðï÷èüíéïò(Subterranean), Êáôá÷èüíéïò (Infernal), DJ Jimmy D, Ove and Lemuroz. The first four are the MC's and the latter two are crew members. They haven't released anything yet. However, they contributed the track "Ç Íý÷ôá Ôùí Æùíôáíþí Íåêñþí" (The Night Of The Living Dead) in FM Records' Hip-Hop compilation "×ïíôñÝò ÄïõëåéÝò" (Fat Bussiness). Their debut album is expected in February '98.

WORLD FUGITIVES

Bobby B and Lil' Kris, aka World Fugitivez, are two of the few Greek MC's that use English as their rappin' language. Bobby B has been in the game since 1989, when he first started kickin' freestyles in parties. Lil' Kris is only 17 years old, but he sure knows how to rap. They both have an exceptional flow and one could easily mistake them as an act from the West Coast. Production in their tracks is made by DJ Antaeus, whose credits include Hammer, Young MC a.o., with many ethnic elements in every track. Discussions with Arista and Tommy Boy were made about a potential record deal, but they lead nowhere. However, Coolio was impressed by them and he kept a contact number.... Dr. DREEZ

Dr. Dreez Dr. Dreez is one of the members of Himi Rec Co. His debut LP Áìöéèõìßá (Ambivalence) was produced by Himiskoubria and features them in some tracks (vocally). The Doctor's style is "West Coast", however two tracks of his LP are East Coast-oriented. His funny, like Himiskoubria, but he's hardcore; "Xùñéü Ðïõ Öáßíåôáé" (Village that's visible, Greek expression, equivalent to "That stands out a mile") will make many people look theirselves at the mirror wondering, while "Tï ÖñÝóêï Êïôüðïõëï" (Fresh Chicken) will bring laughter to everyone (except for a very few, you know who, they know who they are). He also contributed a track in Phat Bussiness. DISCOGRAPHY:

RAZASTARR

Razastarr were formed in the early '90s. The line-up includes Loud Effect (A. Tsiambokalos/ Sadazhinia's brother....), Da B (N. Karimalis) and SPO (T. Spyropoulos). They were members of Freestyle Productions , but ... You know it; arguement with BD Foxmoor ... They all reside in Vyronas, Athens and are members of the Dustheadz Click, along with FF.C (see above), Frontal Attack (one of the youngest MCs, info available soon), ÐáñåìâïëÝò (=Interferances) a.o. They started workin' on their tracks back in 1994, but they haven't released any material, apart from two tracks that were included in Triple H's Phat Bussiness. BD Foxmoor wanted to produced their LP, but (thank God) the dispute took place.  After all these years of waiting, Razastarr's debut LP was  released last winter, with the participation of K. Kourmendalas of FF.C in one track.

NEBMA

NEBMA (=handsign, mis-spelled) were formed in 1996. All the group members were Freestyle Production "raised" kids. Grand Panic (Nikos Pavlidis), Odious (Dimitris Kandaris), Low Riff (Nektarios Karayannis), AMD Solo (Alexandros Dedegikas) and DJ Faid (Nikos Fotinopoulos) made their first steps in the Greek Hip-Hop scene under the guidance of BD Foxmoor . However... Yeah; you guessed correctly. They had an arguement with him too... However, their debut LP titled "ÌáêñéÜ Áð' ôç ÃéïñôÞ" (=Away from the feast) was a BD Foxmoor production for Freestyle Productions . Anyway, now all the relationships with Active Member are over and they work along with Deadlock (another former Freestyle Production group, info available soon) on the production of their second LP (editor's note: and judging by the tracks I've already heared, the whole thing will be much more better than their first effort).

ÂÁÂÕËÙÍÁ(=Babylon)

Babylona Báâõëþíá was born inside Freestyle Productions a year ago. The line-up includes ÂÝâçëïò (Sacrilegious), ÐõñïâÜôçò (Fire-Walker), Èçñßï (Monster), ÐáñÜöñùí (Lunatic), Ðñßãêçðáò (Prince), ÌÝèõóïò (Drunkard), ÓÜôõñïò (Satyr) and Êýñïò (Cyrus) who has already stepped off. They call their style ...low bap, just like Active Member. They released a 6 track CD last fall and their debut LP "Áñ÷Þ Åðß ÔÝëïõò" (=Start Over End or Beginning Finally) through Parlophone/EMI. You know the story; what goes for AM goes for them too. Listen to the album and send me an e-mail tellin' me which samples you recognize... BD Foxmoor and X-Ray (brrrrrr.....) are featured in a couple of tracks, while Sadazhinia produced one track.
